Love in a jar

Yes, I realize this looks more like a Christmas post, but I just got around to baking these delicious cookies with my oldest. The kitchen needed a warm up on my day off, so what better way to take the chill off... BAKE! I do love oatmeal cookies, I tend to bake them more than any other cookie, from scratch or otherwise (remember I work full time and have 3 wee ones - so the occasional break 'n bake cookie does come out of my oven). This great treat came all the way from Colorado from my cousin to my daughter as a Christmas present. They were so easy and delicious.

As you can see I did drag out the vintage Christmas glasses, of course, the cookies were a Christmas gift after all, and I just had to share North Pole memories from childhood. My parents purchased these glasses for us on our last trip to Lake Placid and were a holiday tradition every year, alas only 2 survive. My wee ones do share, and the smallest was overjoyed to see them again and insisted on using one to dunk her warm cookies in.
This was a great way to end an afternoon home with the kids, cookies and milk and great Mommy points for me. Thanks Ashley for Love in a jar!

Leg Warmies

Warmies

These are the first completed project for 2009! They were knitted with lots of love for my wee one. As soon as she unwrapped them they were slipped on and the dancing began in earnest. They are the Leg Warmies pattern from nevernotknitting.blogspot.com. The wee one asks to ware them nearly every time we venture forth on the bitter cold, which seems almost daily, UG! Spring can't arrive quick enough in WNY, although the warmer it gets the less knitting I do because the gardens start calling.

Hello World....

I have finally taken the plunge. I cannot be accused of being impetuous, although sometimes spontaneous, but I'll need a list!

Yes, a list of all the things you can hope to see here on a regular basis..... my ramblings about my kids and my rantings over the fact that I did NOT receive the parenting manual when they were born, my knitting & my cooking, both of which I have a very difficult time following directions. I have the uncontrollable desire to improve patterns and recipes. Yep, I can't leave a tried and tested thing alone, I must put my own twist on things for good or evil. Hmmmm..... I'm sure I'll be adding to the list because as the seasons change, so do my interests.
